W3 Reading Work

This week we are reading a story called the Big Jump and it is a Fiction story. So our task was to make a Very Scary Flying fox. Because in the story the kid named Big Daddy was too scared to go down the flying fox.

Sri Lanka

For IL we are Learning about traditions and Cultures. We had to find the difference then make a DLO with your tradition and Cultures. I think a culture is something that your family does so it is a special thing. I think Traditions mean like a thing that is special to your country.

For Reading This week we are reading a non-fiction story so that means that for this week we are making a Information web and not a Story map.

Science Project

Walt Share what we have explored with Whanau .

Last term for Integrated Learning we were learning Exploration and we were learning about vinegar and Baking Soda. To see what happens when it is Combined. So we had a day were our Parents came to look at our Experiments we did. One of the most frustrating things that make the rocket fail is if you don't put the Cork in the bottle fast enough.



Some didn't go well but some did.

Something I enjoyed was doing the Experiment because it is exciting when you put the things in then when you wait for it to soar into the sky, and taking the information to make a DLO.

Something I didn't enjoy was when the experiment didn't work well. Because when your trying to put the tissue with the baking soda in if the other person isn't paying attention then the rocket won't fly up.

My Taonga

For Integrated Learning We have been Learning about Taonga Which means Treasure in Maori
and for our Integrated Learning Task we had to draw all the things that are our Taonga These are mine. The Two Flags are New Zealand and Sri Lanka. these are my taonga because I was born in Sri Lanka and I spent most of my life in New Zealand. The Teddy bear Represents My First Teddy I've ever gotten and I still have it. the House at the bottom is my Taonga because that is  my family and I love my family they are one of the Most Precious Taonga. The Guitar and The Piano represent my Music I like play Instruments so that is one of my Prized taonga. These are all my Taonga.
